Who runs this site

MatchaWhat is an independent editorial site published by Morfaz Studio. For any privacy question, correction, or data request, email [email protected]. We answer privacy mail within 30 days, as GDPR requires.

What we collect directly

Nothing that identifies you personally. There is no account system, no registration, no newsletter signup, and no comment form on this site. We never ask for your name, address, or payment details, because there is nothing here to buy.

The one exception is email. If you write to us, we hold your message and our reply for as long as it takes to deal with the exchange, and we do not add your address to any list.

Our calculators (caffeine, ratio, cost, water cooling) run entirely in your browser. The numbers you type into them are never transmitted to us or stored anywhere.

Advertising cookies — Google AdSense

This site is supported by advertising. We use Google AdSense to display ads, and that means third-party cookies are set in your browser for advertising purposes. Specifically:

• Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this site and to other websites.
• Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the internet.
• These ads may be personalised, which means the ad you see can be influenced by your browsing history, your approximate location, and the device you are reading on.
• Third-party ad networks other than Google may also serve ads through Google's platform and set their own cookies. We do not control which networks these are.

You can opt out of personalised advertising at Google Ads Settings. Turning personalisation off does not remove ads — it makes them less relevant. You can opt out of a wider set of third-party vendors at aboutads.info and Your Online Choices (EU). Consent in the EEA, UK and Switzerland

If you are reading from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, a consent message appears before personalised advertising cookies are set, as required by the ePrivacy Directive and the GDPR. You can accept, reject, or configure your choice, and you can change your mind at any time by clearing this site's cookies and reloading the page. Rejecting consent leaves the site fully readable — you will simply see non-personalised ads.

Analytics — Google Analytics 4

We use Google Analytics 4 to see which articles get read and which do not. It tells us page views, rough traffic sources, device type, and country-level location. IP addresses are anonymised by Google before we ever see anything, and the reports we look at are aggregate — we cannot identify an individual reader and we do not try to.

You can block Analytics entirely with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.

Controlling cookies yourself

Every major browser lets you block or delete cookies — usually under Settings → Privacy. Blocking third-party cookies stops advertising cookies without affecting your ability to read anything here: no article, calculator, or recipe on this site requires a cookie to work.

Server logs

Like every website, our host records standard access logs: IP address, time, page requested, and browser user-agent. These are used for security and debugging, are not combined with any other data, and are discarded on the host's normal rotation schedule.

Children

This site is written for adults and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect anything from them. If you believe a child has sent us personal information by email, write to us and we will delete it.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of any personal data we hold, object to processing, or lodge a complaint with your national data protection authority. Under the CCPA, California residents may request disclosure or deletion of personal information and opt out of its "sale" — we do not sell personal information. In practice the only personal data we ever hold is the content of emails you have chosen to send us.

Updates

We update this policy whenever the services running on the site change. The date at the top always reflects the current version.
